More about the role

The scope of this position covers 3PL and 4PL responsibilities. The 3PL operations are in Melbourne and Brisbane with 4PL relationships in Sydney, Newcastle (NSW), Adelaide, Perth and Darwin.

The 3PL sites in Melbourne comprise of a new facility located at Truganini consisting of 14100sqm of space plus 5000sqm of canopy holding, operating as a cross docking facility. With over 12000 pallet positions there is room to expand by a further 3000 pallet positions leaving over 5000sqm of floor space.

The Truganini site is a multi-customer facility.The second site in Melbourne is an older facility comprising of 8500sqm of space servicing one client.The Queensland operations in Brisbane is an older multi-customer facility of approximately 6000sqm run as multiple chambers.

All other facilities are operated through a 4PL relationships, and the GM of Contract Logistics will be responsible for the efficient handling of the clients that are serviced through these facilities.

This business has solid software and technology infrastructure using Cargowise as the ERP system, S2 as the Warehouse Management System and Freight Exchange as the Transport Management System. All facilities operate with RF scanning technology driving receipting, inbound put away, cycle counting, storage reconciliation, stock picking and despatch.

About You

You will need extensive experience in running multiple warehouse sites. Your people skills will be paramount as will your commercial acumen. The mission for this role is to set the standard for Australia and ensure that all sites are delivering a premium customer experience. You will have achievements in lifting all the key metrics that make warehouse operations successful. Safety is key and you can demonstrate how you have used safety to engage the workforce and drive safety ownership at every level. Process mapping, continuous improvement, on-job training and lifting the management capabilities of team leaders are all key areas needing a sound leader in this position. You enjoy a challenge and making an impact at a national level.
